Yogini Entertainer

Marguerite Baca & Wayne Dyer

Many people ask how I got into yoga. I was drawn to it. While thumbing through Psychology Today magazine, I noticed an advertisement for yoga/meditation & had a deep sense of knowing that's for me.

At age 13, I began a dedicated practice of hatha yoga & meditation. It has been the through line of my life ever since. For two years I studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Los Angeles, then applied my training in theatre, recording, & television. During my years as an entertainer, I supplemented my dance training by exploring all the yoga classes offered at the studios.

Yoga Video, Books, More Training

Shortly after becoming certified & teaching, Buns of Steel/Warner Vision scouted me out to choreograph, script, & perform a yoga video for them. Yoga Works in Los Angeles then recruited me for their advanced teacher-training program where I studied with renowned senior Iyengar teachers & master ashtanga teachers. For the book Yoga for Dummies, I served as a photo shoot consultant & model.

Marguerite The Author

The publisher of Que Linda magazine hired me as contributing editor, encouraging me to influence the direction of the magazine with mind/body articles. I continue to write freelance articles and recently did research for the book Yoga Rx by Larry Payne, Ph.D.

Corporate Wellness

Teaching at corporations, I am witness to the rejuvenating effects that yoga brings to others in the work environment. These simple techniques give a refreshing boost, greatly enhancing the moods & productivity of staff.

Los Angeles Experience

As a former resident of the Los Angeles area, I taught for twelve years at places like Gold's Gym, Pacific Athletic Club & Sports Club L.A. I frequently presented at workshops & conferences.

San Diego Experience

Since moving to San Diego, my teaching experience has broadened into school systems, the military & to other fitness professionals.
